We collectively employ 247 persons who in large part live in the City of Buffalo and in the communities served by our agencies, 210 community/Buffalo residents volunteer their time and or support by serving on each agencies Board of Directors. There are 96,300 clients that depend on us for direct services and indirect services.
We are all located in the City of Buffalo and serve twelve communities that encircle the City. Our agencies provide a diverse set of services, which include, but are not limited to, case management, activities for youth (summer camp, after-school, mentoring, tutoring), seniors (lunch program, socialization i.e. ceramics, bingo, music) and families (daycare, parenting classes, income tax assistance), food and clothing pantry’s, and housing and weatherization services. All of our clients depend on us to assist them in attaining their most basic needs such as food and shelter. We are at times their only means of support when life gets tough.
We have identified four (4) priority areas that we have committed ourselves to working on.
The four areas are:
1. Advocacy
2. Effective and efficient delivery of programs and/or services, and where possible the elimination of duplicative services
3. The stabilization and self-sufficiency of member agencies
4. Identifying and implementing cost savings strategies that could free up current resources to meet the needs of our clients.
