Celebrating 100 years of the “Dom Polski” Building
The Polish Community Center of Buffalo, Inc. (PCCB)was established in 1976 and is housed in the historic Dom Polski building located at 1081 Broadway, in the heart of Buffalo^s East Side and the Broadway-Fillmore community. On November 11, 2000 the PCCB officially changed it^s name to the "Lt. Col. Matt Urban Human Services Center of WNY" and rededicated its mission to serve the needs of the diverse surrounding community under a new corporate identity. By taking the name of Lt. Col. Matt Urban, the PCCB paid honor to one of the most decorated World War II veterans in American history, who was born and raised in the Broadway-Fillmore neighborhood. The "Urban Center" is a multi-purpose citizen center, striving to meet the human service, educational, recreational, and housing needs of the community. For over 25 years, the Urban Center has provided activities and programs for all ages: pre-school through senior citizen. Fulfilling the demand and need of these services, the Urban Center also operates two inner-city, satellite locations: Polonia Hall and T.J. Dulski Center.
