The mission of the University Heights Community Development Association, Inc., is to promote and provide housing and human services to all residents that enrich and enhance the quality of life in the University Heights Community.
The University Heights CDA/Gloria Parks Community Center offers many different programs that benefit everyone. Listed below are just a handful of the programs that they offer:
Community Technology Center:
- Computer courses currently feature a Basics program designed for senior citizens
- Internet and Wi-Fi access, in addition to open hours
Youth Programs:
- Organized anti-biased curriculum
- Educated and caring staff
- Options for School Holidays and Summer Camp
Senior & Adult Programs
- Transportation for special senior events, monthly shopping trips, and doctor appointments
- Blood pressure screening
- Educational programs including AARP Driver's Ed. Course
- Daily social activities including a senior-led exercise program
Athletic Program:
- Gymnasium that provides structured co-ed youth leagues
- Fully-equipped cardio and fitness rooms
- Basketball Tournaments, Summer Varsity and Junior Varsity Leagues
Housing Programs:
- First Time Home Buyer Programs and Financial Literacy Training
- Acquisition, Rehabilitation Program
- Assistance with City and Federal Homeowner grants
